Meghan & Connor’s Love Story & Proposal

Their story began in 2017 when Connor was visiting Wisconsin with his Coast Guard roommate, Jacob. Jacob is Meghan’s cousin and was the connection that brought these two together. It wasn’t until a year later that their relationship began to flourish though. Through traveling back and forth from Key West, Florida, and Wisconsin they were able to move swiftly through the battles of long-distance. From there, they moved in together when Connor was re-stationed to San Diego, California. The rest was well… history.

On a beach in Hawaii, as the sun began to set, Connor got down on one knee and asked Meghan to marry him. It was the question of a lifetime, and one that Meghan so happily said yes to. Now, it feels so surreal to have witnessed all of the planning come together for this beautiful moment for their Des Moines Iowa wedding.

Meghan & Connor’s Des Moines Iowa Wedding at Willow on Grand

Meghan and Connor wanted to keep their color palette simple and neutral. Their venue does a lot of the talking, so keeping things simple complimented Willow on Grand perfectly. Breaking away from tradition, Meghan and Connor embarked on their wedding journey by doing a first look. An emotional moment that will be forever a part of their memories. In a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony, the two exchanged their vows. In front of friends and family, a symbolic knot tie brings together their love and binds their two families as one. Wedding days seemingly pass you by in the blink of an eye. Just like that these two were walking down the aisle hand in hand.

Shortly after, it was their reception. Their reception space was held in the Grand Room at Willow on Grand. Chandeliers dangled from above and candles lined the tables as guests began trickling in. They spent the rest of their time dancing the night away and celebrating their new journey as husband and wife.
